Looks like hell just froze over in time for Halloween:  FOX News has defended Barack Obama against a scurrilous smear by 'Joe The Plumber' turned 'Joe the Hatchet Man' (a.k.a. Joe Wurzelbacher).  This is a video clip that must be seen to be believed.

FOX's Shepard Smith first demonstrated with acumen, and more than a little disgust, that Wurzelbacher is ignorant on foreign policy and Barack Obama's positions on Israel.  Then, Smith made the second point that  Wurzelbacher's alarmist, and totally false statement--that a vote for Obama would bring 'death to Israel'--was dangerous and irresponsible because it might encourage people to take measures into their own hands.

Even more incredible, Smith then went on to criticize the McCain campaign for substantiating Wurzelbacher's false claims.

So...FOX News arguing that the violent rhetoric of the McCain campaign is potentially dangerous to civic life in America?  Lord have mercy!

When the McCain campaign goes so low that FOX steps into defend Obama--someone better make sure the laws of physics are still up and running.
